MILWAUKEE YAMAHA SET FOR ULSTER GRAND PRIX THIS WEEKEND

MILWAUKEE YAMAHA SET FOR ULSTER GRAND PRIX THIS WEEKEND

Following a successful British Superbike weekend at Oulton Park with James Ellison taking a race victory, the Milwaukee Yamaha Team is now set-up and ready for today’s opening practice session at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Both the team’s road-men, William Dunlop and Conor Cummins, completed a successful shakedown test recently at Cadwell Park, followed by race action at Armoy Road Races in Northern Ireland.

William took victory in the Supersport race at Armoy aboard the team’s Milwaukee Yamaha R6 and finished second in the Armoy Race of Legends on his Milwaukee liveried R1 Superbike.

Conor also had a successful day out at the Armoy event, and both men are now looking forward to this weekend’s International event at Northern Ireland’s Ulster Grand Prix.

A six time winner on the Dundrod circuit, William said: “I feel I’ve as good a chance of a win on the Superbike as I have on the 600 at the Ulster this weekend. The Milwaukee Yamaha R1 is a fast bike, which should suit the Dundrod circuit; I’d actually say it’s built for the place, so hopefully the weather stays dry and we can get a good run this week. I’d love to add to my wins on Saturday and a first ever Superbike victory would end my international season on a high.”

His team-mate Conor Cummins added: “It was great to get some bike time again on the Milwaukee Yamaha machinery at Armoy and also at the Cadwell test, and I had a bike across in the Isle of Man to have ‘a play on’ at Jurby. I’m looking forward to Dundrod as it’s a circuit that I’ve had success on in the past and I firmly believe it will suit the R1 as it’s a missile!”

Team owner Shaun Muir concluded: “We’re all looking forward to getting the boys out again at the Ulster and hopefully the weather will be kind to us. William’s confidence has been building all year on the bikes and he has been looking forward to Dundrod, as he feels it will give him an equal chance on both the Milwaukee Yamaha Superbike and Supersport machines. Conor is also more content having got some extra miles in testing and at Armoy, so yeah, we will be looking for some good results this week.”
